Michelle Tononi

Owner & Tutor

Michelle graduated from Ferris State University, where she also played college softball, in Big Rapids, Michigan. Her Bachelor's Degree is in Elementary Education with minors in math and science. After college she moved to Aurora and began teaching in Douglas County School District. In her five years of teaching she has taught third, fourth, and fifth grade and is currently an ELD teacher. She is going to school for her Masters in English Language Development. Michelle’s passion is building strong relationships with her students and creating a fun, positive learning environment that fosters academic success. Michelle enjoys tutoring, going to the mountains on the weekends to hike, snowboard, and camp. She also enjoys playing slowpitch softball, taking her dog to the Cherry Creek dog park, and traveling. Michelle currently resides in Aurora with her fiancé and their dog, Ferris. 

Vanessa Knight


Vanessa Knight graduated from Texas A&M University with a major in Psychology/Child Development. After moving to Colorado she then continued her studies at The University of Colorado for Elementary Education. In her 10 years of teaching, she has worked with preschool, Kindergarten, first, and third grade both in private and public schools. Vanessa currently teaches in Douglas County School District. Vanessa is passionate about helping children develop a love of learning. Her goal is to inspire learners to be effective readers, writers, spellers, and mathematicians. Vanessa is also bilingual. She is able to help students who are wanting to further their Spanish language development. Having personal experience learning another language has given her a better understanding of the process of teaching a foregin language for her students. When not teaching or tutoring, she enjoys spending time with her husband, four daughters, and dog Luna.   

Courtney Sidener


Courtney graduated from Colorado Mesa University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and recently received her Masters in Elementary Education from Regis University. In her 5 years of teaching, Courtney has worked as an educational assistant for first and second grade, was a student-teacher for fifth grade, and is currently working as a long-term substitute for fourth grade in the Douglas County School District. Courtney enjoys building positive relationships and encouraging student success through the development of a positive learning environment. Her goal is to help students create and maintain positive work habits using learning strategies that best match the student's needs. Outside the world of teaching, Courtney enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and their golden retriever puppy, Aspen. She enjoys traveling, attending concerts and sporting events, and the great outdoors.   

Sara Garcia


Sara is currently a third grade teacher in Douglas County School District. She moved to Colorado from Michigan about 2 years ago. She has taken full advantage of the active lifestyle by engaging in hiking, skiing, and exploring with her fiancée in her free time. Sara graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a focus in Language Arts and a minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Michigan States’s teacher preparation program has been rated #1 in the country for the past 27 consecutive years. Sara is a proud member of the Spartan family and community! Sara prides herself in her strong relationships with her students and families. She believes in helping every student she works with to reach their full potential!
